Budget Emerald Car Hire

Considered the gateway to the Central Highlands, this small city lies along the banks of the Nogoa River, 170 km west of Rockhampton and 190 km to the coast. It was established in 1879 as the railroad expanded into the west. The Budget Rent a Car is located in town on Springsure Road near Gregory Highway South.

The Emerald Botanic Gardens are along Capricorn Highway, not far in the Budget car hire, you can take a nice stroll and explore this tropical garden with 12 different themed plant areas, all native to this area. In Morton Park, you will find the largest Van Gogh Sunflower painting in the world, as Emerald is a major producer of sunflowers. Adjacent to this you will find the Central Highlands Visitor Centre.

A short drive in the Budget rental car will bring you to Fairburn Dam, holding back the Nogoa River creating Lake Maraboon, Queensland’s second largest lake. This lake is prime location for boating, fishing and other water sports, as well as providing irrigation for the cotton and citrus growers. When it is full the Lake holds more water than Sydney Harbour.

The Gemfields are 45 minutes west of Emerald, here you can visit Sapphire and see the Sapphire Gemfields.
