Ten Amtrak lines stop at the station, as do MARC (Maryland Area Regional Commuter) and VRE (Virginia Railway Express) trains, and the Washington Metro Red Line. Maryland and DC Metrobus, BoltBus, Greyhound, Peter Pan, and Megabus all stop at DC Union Station as well. In 2012, Amtrak announced a long-term plan to improve the station, renovating the station and great increasing capacity.

Fastbreak Service
Proceed to Budget rental counter. Show your drivers license and identify yourself as a Fastbreak member. The Budget rental agent will provide you with your preprinted contract and keys.
General Directions
COUNTER: Located inside Union Station train station. Rental counter inside the terminal.
CARS: Located on 'H' St side of the train station.
RETURNS: Same as pick-up.
After-hours Returns
Rental vehicle must be returned during office hours.
Reagan National Airport is open later hours so cars can be returned to the airport during their business hours.

NOTE: Some locations may have a key drop available:

Drop Box Available: If the customer chooses to leave the vehicle, the customer is responsible for the vehicle & all charges (including any damages or theft of the vehicle may have incurred during after hours) until the contract can be closed on the following business day.

Drop Box NOT Available: If the location does not have a key drop box, the location does not permit vehicles to be left after closing hours. The customer should never lock or leave the keys inside the car. The customer is responsible for the vehicle & all charges (including any damages to or theft of the vehicle and locksmith fees if they choose to lock the keys in the car). The customer can either choose to return the car the next day the location is open OR change the Drop Off Location to the nearest Regional Airport. Customer is responsible for all charges related to the drop-off modification.
